ואזל רחבעם לשכם ארום בשכם אתו כל ישראל לאמלכא יתיה:
ythyh lamlka yshral kl athw bshkm arwm lshkm rkhbem wazl
Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king.

והוה כד שמע ירבעם בר נבט והוא שרי במצרים די ערק מן קדם שלמה ותב ירבעם ממצרים:
mmtsrym yrbem wthb shlmh qdm mn erq dy bmtsrym shry whwa nbT br yrbem shme kd whwh
When Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard of it (for he was in Egypt, where he had fled from the presence of King Solomon), Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.

ושדרו וקרו ליה ואתא ירבעם וכל ישראל ומלילו עם רחבעם למימר:
lmymr rkhbem em wmlylw yshral wkl yrbem watha lyh wqrw wshdrw
They sent and called him; and Jeroboam and all Israel came, and they spoke to Rehoboam, saying,

אבוך אקשי ית נירנא וכדון אקיל אנת מן פולחנא דאבוך קשין ומן ניריה תקיפא די יהב עלנא ונפלחנך:
wnplkhnk elna yhb dy thqypa nyryh wmn qshyn dabwk pwlkhna mn anth aqyl wkdwn nyrna yth aqshy abwk
“Your father made our yoke grievous. Now therefore make the grievous service of your father and his heavy yoke which he put on us, lighter, and we will serve you.”

ואמר להון עד זמן תלתא יומין אוריכו ותובו לותי ואזלו עמא:
ema wazlw lwthy wthwbw awrykw ywmyn thltha zmn ed lhwn wamr
He said to them, “Come again to me after three days.” So the people departed.

ואתמליך מלכא רחבעם עם סביא דהוו קימין ומשמשין קדם שלמה אבוי במהויה קים למימר אכדין אתון מתמלכין לאתבא לעמא הדין פתגמא:
pthgma hdyn lema lathba mthmlkyn athwn akdyn lmymr qym bmhwyh abwy shlmh qdm wmshmshyn qymyn dhww sbya em rkhbem mlka wathmlyk
King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, “What counsel do you give me about how to answer these people?”

ומלילו עמיה למימר אין תהא לטב לעמא הדין ותתרעי בהון ויהון לך לעבדין כל יומיא:
ywmya kl lebdyn lk wyhwn bhwn wththrey hdyn lema lTb thha ayn lmymr emyh wmlylw
They spoke to him, saying, “If you are kind to these people, please them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever.”

ושבק ית מלכת סביא דמלכוהי ואתמליך בטליא די רביאו עמיה די קימין ומשמשין קדמוי:
qdmwy wmshmshyn qymyn dy emyh rbyaw dy bTlya wathmlyk dmlkwhy sbya mlkth yth wshbq
But he abandoned the counsel of the old men which they had given him, and took counsel with the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.

ואמר להון מה אתון מתמלכין ונתיב פתגמא ית עמא הדין די מלילו לותי למימר אקיל מן נירא די יהב אבוך עלנא:
elna abwk yhb dy nyra mn aqyl lmymr lwthy mlylw dy hdyn ema yth pthgma wnthyb mthmlkyn athwn mh lhwn wamr
He said to them, “What counsel do you give, that we may give an answer to these people, who have spoken to me, saying, ‘Make the yoke that your father put on us lighter’?”

ומלילו עמיה טליא די רביאו עמיה למימר כדנן תימר לעמא דמלילו עמך למימר אבוך אתקיף ית נירנא ואנת אקיל מננא כדנן תימר להון חלשותי תקיפא מן גבורתי דאבא:
daba gbwrthy mn thqypa khlshwthy lhwn thymr kdnn mnna aqyl wanth nyrna yth athqyp abwk lmymr emk dmlylw lema thymr kdnn lmymr emyh rbyaw dy Tlya emyh wmlylw
The young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Thus you shall tell the people who spoke to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but make it lighter on us;’ thus you shall say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist.

וכדון אבא רמא עלויכון ניר תקיף ואנא אוסיף על ניריכון אבא רדא יתכון בשרביטין ואנא ארדי יתכון במרגנין:
bmrgnyn ythkwn ardy wana bshrbyTyn ythkwn rda aba nyrykwn el awsyp wana thqyp nyr elwykwn rma aba wkdwn
Now whereas my father burdened you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.’”

ואתא ירבעם וכל עמא לות רחבעם ביומא תליתאה היכמא די מליל מלכא למימר תובו לותי ביומא תליתאה:
thlythah bywma lwthy thwbw lmymr mlka mlyl dy hykma thlythah bywma rkhbem lwth ema wkl yrbem watha
So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king asked, saying, “Come to me again the third day.”

ואתיבנון מלכא פתגמא קשין ושבק מלכא רחבעם ית מלכת סביא:
sbya mlkth yth rkhbem mlka wshbq qshyn pthgma mlka wathybnwn
The king answered them roughly; and King Rehoboam abandoned the counsel of the old men,

ומליל להון כמלכת טליא למימר אבא איקר ית ניריכון ואנא אוסיף עלוהי אבא רדא יתכון בשרביטין ואנא במרגנין:
bmrgnyn wana bshrbyTyn ythkwn rda aba elwhy awsyp wana nyrykwn yth ayqr aba lmymr Tlya kmlkth lhwn wmlyl
and spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.”

ולא קביל מלכא מן עמא ארום הות תוסקפא מן קדם יי מן בגלל לאקמא יי ית פתגמיה די מליל ביד אחיה דמן שילו על ירבעם בר נבט:
nbT br yrbem el shylw dmn akhyh byd mlyl dy pthgmyh yth yy laqma bgll mn yy qdm mn thwsqpa hwth arwm ema mn mlka qbyl wla
So the king didn’t listen to the people; for it was brought about by God, that Yahweh might establish his word, which he spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

וכלהון ישראל חמון ארום לא קביל מלכא מנהון ואתיבו עמא ית מלכא למימר מה אית לנא חולק בדוד ואחסנתא בבריה דישי גבר לקרויך ישראל כדון מלוך על אנשי ביתך דוד ואזלו כלהון ישראל לקרויהון:
lqrwyhwn yshral klhwn wazlw dwd bythk anshy el mlwk kdwn yshral lqrwyk gbr dyshy bbryh wakhsntha bdwd khwlq lna ayth mh lmymr mlka yth ema wathybw mnhwn mlka qbyl la arwm khmwn yshral wklhwn
When all Israel saw that the king didn’t listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, “What portion do we have in David? We don’t have an inheritance in the son of Jesse! Every man to your tents, Israel! Now see to your own house, David.” So all Israel departed to their tents.

ובני ישראל דיתבין בקרוי יהודה ואמליך עליהון רחבעם:
rkhbem elyhwn wamlyk yhwdh bqrwy dythbyn yshral wbny
But as for the children of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

ושדר מלכא רחבעם ית הדורם דממני על מסקי מסין ופתקו ביה בני ישראל אבניא ומית ומלכא רחבעם אתקף למסק בארתכא למפך לירושלם:
lyrwshlm lmpk barthka lmsq athqp rkhbem wmlka wmyth abnya yshral bny byh wpthqw msyn msqy el dmmny hdwrm yth rkhbem mlka wshdr
Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was over the men subject to forced labor; and the children of Israel stoned him to death with stones. King Rehoboam hurried to get himself up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

ומרדו בית ישראל בבית דוד עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed dwd bbyth yshral byth wmrdw
So Israel rebelled against David’s house to this day.

ܘܐܬܐ ܪܚܒܥܡ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܟܢܫ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܠܫܒܛܐ ܕܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܡܐܐ ܘܬܡܢܐܝܢ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܫ̇ܡ̈ܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ ܘܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝ ܩܪܒܐ ܠܡܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܡܗܦܟܘ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܠܪܚܒܥܡ ܒܪܗ ܕܫܠܝܡܘܢ

ܐܡܪ ܠܪܚܒܥܡ ܒܪܗ ܕܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܥܠ ܒܝܬ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܘܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܥܠ ܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn 'mr dem' shrk' wel 'ysryl klh wel bnymyn byth wel dyhwd' mlk' dshlymwn brh lrkhbem 'mr

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܣܩܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܬܟܬܫܘܢ ܗܦܘܟܘ ܓܒܪ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܩܕܡܝ ܗܘܐ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܫܡܥܘ ܡܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܗܦܟܘ ܠܡܐܙܠ ܐܢܫ ܠܒܝܬܗ

ܘܒܢܐ ܝܘܪܒܥܡ ܠܫܟܝܡ ܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܫܒܛܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܝܬܒ ܒܗ̇ ܘܢܦܩ ܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܘܒܢܐ ܠܦܢܘܐܝܠ

ܐܢܗܘ ܕܣ̇ܠܩܝܢ ܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܗ̇ܦܟ ܠܒܗ ܕܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܗܘܢ ܘܩ̇ܛܠܝܢ ܠܝ ܘܡܗܦܟܝܢ ܠܗ̇ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܠܪܚܒܥܡ ܒܪ ܫܠܝܡܘܢ

ܘܐܬܪܥܝ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܥܒܕ ܬܪܝܢ ܥܓ̈ܠܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܓܝ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܡܣܩ ܠܡܢܐ ܣ̇ܠܩܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܢܚ̇ܬܝܢ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗ̈ܝܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܐܣܩܘܟ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ
